How Livin' Bend...Gives Back

In our community

Livin’ Bend Clotheslines is committed to our community. 100% of the NET profits from the sale of Parkinson’s-related clothing and other PD items will be donated to Parkinson’s charities in Oregon and nationally.

Julie became involved with the local Parkinson’s community through her ownership of Right at Home in Home Care in central Oregon. She was asked to train to become a Parkinson’s Support Group Facilitator in 2014 and since then began as the Bend, Oregon Facilitator. She also started support groups in Redmond, Oregon and re-ignited the group in LaPine, Oregon.

Julie also became a member of the Central Oregon Parkinson’s Council, (COPC) in 2014 and is the current President of the council. COPC works to increase awareness about PD, and brings activities, events, education, and resources to the region. Julie, most notably, spearheaded a website project, which came to fruition in March of 2017. Please go to www.coparkinsonscouncil.org for more information or to donate if you or someone you know bravely battles PD.

Sponsorship: Kent Callister

Livin’ Bend Clotheslines, LLC is proud and excited to sponsor Professional Snowboarder Kent Callister. Kent started competing for the Australian National Team in 2011, when he was just 15 years old. Kent is a native of San Diego, California, but moved to his Dad’s homeland in Australia when he was five years old. The Callister family spent six years in Australia then made a move back to the states, and settled in Bend, Oregon, for a number of years, where Kent shifted his passion from skateboards to snowboards.

Callister trained with Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation (MBSEF) through his teen years, during which time he realized his love of snowboarding and competing, and soon became a top contender in the halfpipe. Shortly thereafter, Callister was offered a spot on the Australian team, as he has dual citizenship. Although Kent lives in Bend during the off season, he spends months training in New Zealand, Colorado, and Mammoth, California. He is currently sponsored by Mt. Bachelor, Union Bindings, and rides NITRO snowboards.

Kent is truly a high Flying Fox (Australian animal) and was Born to Board! TM

GO KENT! We’re rooting for you and wish you a successful, safe season!
